happy labor day weekend!

hooray for 3 day weekends! we were able to get out of town for a few days and here's what we've done so far...

friday night we arrived at my parents house around 1130pm and were dying to go to sleep.

saturday morning we woke up and wanted to drive out to the palm springs area to see jarens sister and their family and new 1 week old baby.

he's a doll of course and we're so glad their new family of 8 is doing well! his sister also BLESSED me with a pair of her maternity pants that she doesn't need anymore! WAHOO! i've been dying for something nicer than warm-up pants to wear but i just haven't been able to bring myself to spend $50 on jeans i won't wear for the rest of my life! so im VERY thankful to her and her generosity because i LOVE them! props to her for taking this picture of us that i stole from her blog. hehe. and jaren and i didn't mean to look like matching twins, LOL. and i seriously just love those jeans now!
when we got back to my parents house the men in the family headed off to the NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) race last night that is in town this weekend. they had lots of fun and im glad it was them in the heat and not me.
my mom and i went out for a maternity clothes shopping spree which was a huge surprise to me. i love her visa! lol. jk. i was able to get 2 pairs of black pants, another pair of jeans, and 2 new tops for church and all for under $75. we got some GREAT deals! i have never been to a maternity clothes store before. we were greeted with water and orange juice, assigned a dressing room with my name on it (the salespeople walked by tons of times asking by name if i was ok, lol), of course it had a fake pillow bump in there for trying on clothes, and they had a childrens lounge and a daddys lounge with toys and flat screen tv's, LOL. then they wrapped my purchased clothes in tissue paper and i even got a fancy shopping bag that wasn't made of plastic, lol. this was a huge deal to me obviously!

the store next door was one of those fancy baby stores with incredibly high priced new baby trends on clothes and toys etc. we just couldn't resist these racing baby booties!
then we went for a soup and salad dinner at coco's and off to target to find a crib. i thought we had agreed on which one we wanted, but then got sidetracked by another and now today we're still up in the air. so no crib yet. but we did pick up 9 adorable onsies to start stocking up on our collection.

today we've just spent the day around the house vegging, poolside and watching todays race and now about to bbq. sadly we'll be heading home first thing in the morning. it's been a great mini vacation!

hope everyone is having a great labor day weekend!

I need to go maternity shopping wherever you went! I never get juice, etc. :) Besides the obvious stores (Motherhood, etc)...Burlington Coat Factory has cheap cute maternity clothes.
